A Thank You Message To All Readers of This Blog
THANK YOU VERY MUCH! MUA MUA CHUP CHUP!
To all the faithful readers and followers of Writing Under The Shades Of Blue, the shout-out is for you!
This is my 19th post and I am dedicating it to you, my beloved readers and followers. I’m taking a time off to thank all of you for your great love and support for my 6th attempt at blogging.
Thank you very much for supporting a small-time blogger, a struggling yet striving writer like me. You gave me enough motivation to continue my pursuit of blogging. You are the reason why I keep holding on to the pen, pencil and keyboard despite the odds and stress that I experience in my writing career. You gave me enough hope to keep the flame burning – that is, to keep my love for writing alive.
You, my dear readers and followers, have inspired me to persist and persevere in my craft. Your continued patronage have helped me keep this blog running. For this, I never mind the arthritis on my writing hand. The pain cannot overcome the happiness that I am feeling right now, thanks to you.
I’m at loss for words. I’m touched…and inspired and motivated to keep on writing. Thanks to you, my dears.
It was no smooth sailing for my 6th attempt at blogging. Before launching this blog last year, I had to reassess my goals and purposes for writing and blogging, to examine my skills and to reflect on my writing life.
How much has improved in my writing skills? Where am I now? That I asked of myself.
But sad to say and painful to admit, my writing career hasn’t taken off yet. It is still running on the runway. Maybe I an no good pilot after all.
The struggles continue. Have I shared to you that I tried to stay employed by trying my luck on coding?
Last year, my writing career came to a temporary halt after management dissolved the SEO department. To still keep me, management had me learn and do coding, do content-related stuff and create tutorials for clients on the use of their websites. Yeah, for a few months, I did such stuff.
Coding work does look exciting and I took a lot of notes. But I was never good at it. I was never fluent with the codes. I was slow at learning them. For this, the the web development manager warn me: I better level up at coding or else…Well, I pondered resignation.
Anyway, I did return to web content writing, thanks to the (self-appointed) SEO manager. Four months later, she would asked me to resign (read Abandon Ship: Low Job Satisfaction, Resignation and My Last Day At Work). Like my other workmates, I was a victim of broken promises.
I am now employed in another city. I still make a living out of writing and I still find time to blog. But enough of the story. Back to the celebration.
Thanks to you me dears, Writing Under The Shades Of Blue has gathered more than 900 views in its first year. My former WordPress blog (having 22 posts) only received 330 total views in more than two years (2010-2012). A number of posts on my old blog even got ZERO views.
My two other former blogs did better. My MySpace blog (2009-2012) had 29 posts and 648 views. My Soulcast (2009-2012) had 731 views for 13 posts. I had not applied my linkbuilding skills then.
Two posts in this blog got more than 200 views each: Is Buying A New Gadget (Cellphone, Smartphone or Tablet) A Good Investment? and Selfie: Picturing Yourself With Impunity. Thanks to you, my dears. These two posts are some of the best I have written. For you I will continue to write quality posts.
Please continue to support Writing Under The Shades of Blue. Please do share the blog and its posts too.
Once again, THANK YOU VERY MUCH, MY BELOVED READERS AND FOLLOWERS.
I raise a toast or two for you.
